Yeah so the woman unfroze her credit, then the bank laughed hysterically at their loan amount and credit score. They got declined and my first sale came and went :(

Think of it this way; your next customer will probably be less kinja’d.

It’s real simple, if the customer rolls over and doesn’t ask any questions, then either
A:) They understand everything and did all of their research ahead of time and are please with the price
OR
B:) They have no business being in the dealership or financing a pack of gum. These are what we call in the business “get-me-dones”
ETA: I am entering my last week of selling cars after 3 years, so if you have questions AMA

I remember flying through the F&I paperwork when I bought the FoST. I went in with financing already in place. One of the pieces of paper said that if they couldn’t find financing, I’d agree to a dealership loan of 29.9% interest. I stopped and asked the guy if that ever happens. He said over half of the people he dealt with ended up with that loan. I couldn’t believe that people would put themselves in that position.
Good luck, I’m sure you’ll have solid customers in the future!

did you enjoy the job? Today was my second day and while I have a positive outlook and feeling about all this, it’s a total career change from what I have been doing the last 3 years

It was a pretty good job, actually. I am also a programmer so they brought me in to automate some tasks having to do with inventory and third party sites as well as pricing on our website. The goal was to be a one-price dealership, which is working out okay. If a customer says it’s cheaper somewhere else I pretty much tell them to go buy it there. It’s like anything dealing with the general population, 85% of people will fine ot work with and the other 15% will be assholes no matter what.
Oh, the hours sucked ass though. That is my main complaint. We’re having our first kid in a few months so that’s what spurred the job change.
